It was a landmark for Wroughton for over 20 years and now the village's beloved chicken tree will be remembered by a new sign.
Wroughton Parish Council revealed it had obtained design proposals for new artwork which would replace the existing signage on Brimble Hill.
It will include photos of the well-loved chicken-shaped tree, which was decapitated back in February.
The damage was initially blamed on workers carrying out unpopular roadworks, but they said at the time said it fell naturally rather than cut down.
Swindon Borough Council told ward councillor Cathy Martyn an investigation had revealed that it was storm winds that caused the 'head' branch to fall.
It said: "The branch fell due to high winds and not as a result of the contractors.
“There was a grab lorry adjacent and the branch fell on it.
“Apparently there is a video from the lorry driver to support, and when I receive it I will share it.”
