BOOZERS at a Swindon pub are being asked to conjure up a moniker for its latest beer.
The Sir Daniel Arms in Fleet Street, created the beer and wants to come up with a name which pays tribute to Sir Daniel Gooch, the railway pioneer and inventor who was the locomotive superintendent for the Swindon area and also a Cricklade MP.
Paul Knott, manager for the Sir Daniel Arms, said: "The beer is a real ale and can be described as pale and fruity with a dry, hoppy, finish and it has five per cent alcohol.
"We would say to drinkers that come down to the pub and have a taste so people can select the right name for it.
"We have had 150 entries so far and we have a number of prizes for the winner so there's plenty of reasons to enter.
"Not only do they get a letter from me and the pub congratulating them, they will also get a case of Ramsbury Bottled Beers, a bag of Ramsbury promotional goodies and also two steak meals and a bottle of wine and two curries and a bottle of wine, to be had any time they want."
The deadline for entries is tomorrow, with the winner being announced on March 5.
