MUST try harder was certainly not the verdict of Ofsted inspectors who visited Moredon Primary School.
The school was given top marks by the education watchdog, which labelled it outstanding.
The report praised the excellent teaching staff and exceptional progress of the pupils.
It quoted one parent's view that the school was "one of the very best" as a typical response.
Headteacher Lauren Connor, who was praised for her enthusiasm, expertise and commitment to improvement, said the glowing report was the result of a group effort.
"This is not just down to the head - every single person who comes into this school does their bit to make it the best school it can be," she said.
"I tell the children every day that they are in the best school in the country, that they have the best teachers and that they are the best.
"We all know that it's a great job to come here every day and help give a child the best start in life we can but it's always nice to be recognised."
The school received a grade one "outstanding" judgement in most areas, with two "good" grades and "satisfactory" grade for attendance.
The only area for improvement highlighted by the report was to provide pupils with more opportunity to develop their writing skills.
Pupils' behaviour was described as exemplary and the school's care, guidance and support of them was said to be of the highest order.
The curriculum was found to contribute well to pupils' enjoyment and their learning.
Seniors members of staff were complimented on their passion and outstanding leadership.
However, it was the quality of the teaching the report described as the key to pupils' progress.
Year Two teacher Angie Harris said: "I think the report recognised we work as a team and that we are all motivated.
"I'm delighted that everyone's hard work has been recognised."
The school, which has 428 pupils, opened in 2006 as a result of an amalgamation between Moredon Infant and Moredon Junior schools.
Deputy head Jane Burcham, who was the head of Moredon Infants, said: "When we amalgamated two good schools came together to form a great school.
"I think the new building helped to give the school the right sort of attitude."
"From the first moment the children walked in here I think they felt they were in an outstanding school."
