BURDEN Electronics - known to generations of customers simply as Burdens - is a County Road landmark. Its stock is largely divided between white goods such as fridges and freezers, and so-called brown goods, a sector that includes everything from TVs and DVD players to stereo systems.
In fact, Burdens can and does supply just about anything connected with electronic home entertainment.
Founded some 40 years ago and still at the same site, the shop has always been at the forefront when it comes to bringing the latest technology to its customers.
Burdens prides itself not just on the quality of its wares but also on the quality of its service and its aftercare. There is even a special ordering service, ensuring that any make or model of item can be obtained within days.
There are no expensive delivery rates, either - local deliveries are free.The companys service department gained such a reputation for reliability that it had to move to new premises in Old Town, but the original shop remains in its familiar County Road location.
