A Swindon takeaway has been handed a new food hygiene rating.

Happy Cod, a takeaway at 22 Taw Hill Village Centre on Aiken Road in Taw Hill, Swindon received the highest possible score after inspectors carried out an assessment on August 31.

According to the Food Standards Agency's website, the chippy has a five-out-of-five Very Good rating.

The Hygienic food handling category and Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building category were both considered to be Very Good, while Management of food safety was deemed Good.

This latest result means that of Swindon's 132 takeaways with ratings, 86 (65 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
