Four meetings of a scheduled six involving members of Swindon Borough Council have been postponed this week.

The period of national mourning for Her Majesty the Queen, which runs until Monday September 19 has seem the meeting on Monday of the council’s scrutiny committee put back.

Similarly Tuesday’s planning committee meeting and that on Wednesday of the children’s health, care and education overview and scrutiny committee and  Thursday of the adults health, care and housing committee will hall have to be rescheduled.

Two meetings are still listed on the council’s online calendar: both of the education transport appeals subcommittee. They will go ahead at 10am on Wednesday and 9.30am on Friday.

Although the meetings, like other committee meetings, are open to the public the substantive business – deciding whether to accept an appeal on a decision on whether the council will fund transport to school for aa child or children of a family - will be carried out in private.

There are meetings of the Scrutiny committee listed for Monday October 31 and November 14 and for the children’s service committee on November 16 and the adults’ service committee on 17.
