DROPPING a cigarette butt has cost one Swindon woman hundreds of pounds after she was taken to court for littering.
Marlee Ferguson, of Heddington Close, was found guilty of depositing litter and leaving it on the floor of Midsummer Boulevard in Milton Keynes' town centre on February 4 2022.
The 21-year-old was sentenced at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court earlier this month.
She received a £220 fine and must pay £161 in court costs plus £34 to victim services. Altogether, this small bit of litter has led to her paying £415.
