A POLICE helicopter hovered over part of the Swindon borough last night to investigate an incident.
People in Highworth saw armed officers search the town's High Street at around 9.30pm on Thursday.
Witnesses claim a suspect was arrested and police were seen searching parts of Grove Hill and Brookfield.
Police cars and an ambulance parked on the High Street. A police cordon was in place on part of the street near the Turkish Barbers.
The following morning, the scene was clear of police cordons and no officers were in the area.
The reason for the emergency service response has not been confirmed.
Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
