Wiltshire Farm Foods has announced they will not be delivering on Monday (September 19) out of respect for the Queen’s funeral.

The company deliver frozen meals and desserts for an easier option at mealtimes, allowing customers to cook their meals straight from frozen without the prep.

Its menu contains over 330 different meals and desserts.

The website states “we deliver free of charge throughout the UK, so simply sit back, relax and let us deliver sunshine in every meal”.

Like many other retailers, Wiltshire Farm Foods has decided they will not be delivering their services on the bank holiday.

The company said: “As a mark of respect, on the day of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II State Funeral, Monday 19th September, we will not be making any deliveries to allow our customers and team members to pay their tributes.”

“If you usually receive your delivery on a Monday, please contact your local team to discuss alternative delivery days in your area”.

However, concerns have been raised to Wiltshire Farm foods about the elderly customers who are dependent on their services.

One person responded to the company’s statement saying: “I think you are grossly underestimating the value of your essential service to your customers”.

Another said: “Shame. Many (especially elderly) people depend on your regular delivery days. Those caring for elderly parents depend on your delivery days to make arrangements to be there to receive the delivery”.

The company responded by saying: “We understand the value of our service to many of our customers and we will make sure that these deliveries are fulfilled on alternative days to ensure that our customers do not go without”.
