Police are on the hunt for an armed man after an alleged robbery in Swindon town centre.
Officers were called to the area near Clarence House just after 3pm after reports that a suspect was carrying a weapon and had attempted a robbery.
A police spokesperson who confirmed the incident was unable to specify what the weapon the suspect is alleged to be carrying was.
Further details on the robbery itself or a description of the suspect have also not been given at this time.
Witnesses have described seeing armed police deployed in response to the incident, and a police helicopter has been observed hovering overhead.
