Armed police officers and a helicopter were called out to search for suspects after a group of youths approached a man close to Clarence House shortly after 3pm on Friday.
The youths attempted to rob the man and are alleged to have threatened him with a suspected firearm.

A second 16-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday morning and remains in custody.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "Our enquiries are progressing in relation to this incident, including the execution of warrants in Swindon this morning to identify those responsible.
"We would like to reassure our communities in Swindon that there is nothing to suggest any wider risk to the public."
