A suspected opportunistic burglar evidently got more than they bargained for after breaking into a Swindon home.
Swindon police officers, investigating a burglary at an address in Middleleaze, are appealing for witnesses.
In a public appeal posted on Facebook, police explained that between 10.30 and 11.30am on Thursday, September 15, a house in Castleton Close was broken in to via a bathroom window.
But the post went on to say that the man who had gained entry into the home was 'disturbed' by the family pet, and consequently, nothing is believed to have been stolen.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area, including anyone who may have CCTV footage, should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220097486."
