MOTORISTS from Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett have been fined hundreds of pounds each for similar offences which occurred on the same date.
Lyndsey Jones, of Bampton Grove in Old Walcot, was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required.
The 39-year-old was required by police in Bristol on Febuary 21 2022 to give information relating to the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence - but did not do so.
The offence was proven through single justice procedure. At the sentencing earlier this month, Jones received a £660 fine and six points on his driving licence, and must pay £90 in costs plus £66 to fund victim services.
Separately, Jordan Robson, of Masefield in Royal Wootton Bassett, was charged with the same offence.
The 28-year-old was required by the Metropolitan Police at Sidcup on February 21 2022 to provide details of the person behind the wheel of a Land Rover who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, but did not do so.
He received a £660 fine and six points on his driving licence, and must pay £100 in costs plus £66 to fund victim services.
