MORE than £46 million of the borough council's 2022/23 annual budget will be spent on children, families, and community health services.
The local authority explained how the money is used to fund many different services across Swindon, including the Special Education Needs and Disabilities services which support adults and children like Liam.
A council spokesman said: "Liam was 9 years old when he undertook an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment, following a diagnosis of ADHD and autism.
"Having previously been at a mainstream school, Liam’s parents felt he would be best supported in a specialist school, so our SEND team worked to find the best placement for him in Swindon.
"Much to the joy of Liam and his parents, the team has now found him a place at a school that can provide him with the support he needs, and he's starting in his new school this September."
Liam's father added: “May I take this opportunity of thanking you so very much for all your help, time, and advice, and just for being so fantastic in getting everything sorted so quickly for me.
"At a very difficult time for me, you’ve really been a great support."
