CAN you help poor Dolly?

A member of the public found the neglected three-year-old Shih Tzu in the Toothill area.

She was extremely thin and her eye had been ruptured and was badly infected.

Her coat was very matted and had to be clipped off because of the discomfort it was causing her.

Dolly’s eye has since been removed and her other eye - which is also in a poor condition - requires further treatment.

A Swindon Borough Council spokesman added: "Sadly she was also still producing milk, so it’s likely she was bred recently. It is believed she had been abandoned, possibly due to no longer being of use for breeding.

"Due to the extensive nature of her poor condition and the fact she has been left like this for some time, we are looking for any details that may locate her previous owners to discuss this with them."

Any information on Dolly’s previous owners can be emailed to dogwarden@swindon.gov.uk

Dolly is now being taken care of by Blue Cross in Burford, where she will soon be rehomed. If you are looking to rescue a dog or puppy, visit http://ow.ly/yaZr50KP1U8
