Criminals have seen justice served in the town's magistrates in recent days.

From drink driving to assaults, various people have been sentenced for their misdemeanours.

They are as follows.

STRATTON: Scott Cadder, of Swindon Road, changed his plea from not guilty to guilty for a charge of assault by beating.

The 36-year-old hit a man in Swindon on July 28. He received a £120 fine and must pay £150 in court costs plus £48 to fund victim services.

TOWN CENTRE: Stuart Cambridge, of Lincoln Street, has been fined for causing a scene at a Swindon hospital.

The 51-year-old went to Great Western Hospital on February 23 for reasons “other than for the purpose of obtaining medical advice, treatment or care”, then caused a nuisance or disturbance to an NHS staff member and did not leave when asked to do so.

He had previously pleaded not guilty to this charge but later changed it to guilty. Cambridge received a £120 fine and must pay £150 in court costs plus £34 to victim services.

WROUGHTON: Rachael Aldridge, of Brimble Hill, has lost her driving licence after being over the alcohol limit.

The 31-year-old drove a BMW along White Eagle Road on June 18 2021 and, when breathalysed, had 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

She pleaded not guilty to this offence but was later found guilty.

Aldridge has been banned from the roads for 12 months and has received a £180 fine.

Separately, she received a £200 fine after pleading guilty to failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Swindon Magistrates Court on August 18 after having been released on bail.

She must also pay £620 in court costs plus £34 to fund victim services.

UPPER STRATTON: Anthony Jones, of Attlee Crescent, has been banned from driving for 14 months.

The 51-year-old changed his not guilty plea to guilty for a drink driving charge. He drove along the A338 on February 24 and, when breathalysed, had 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 milliliters of breath.

Along with the driving ban, he received a £276 fine and must pay £250 in court costs plus £34 to fund victim services.

RODBOURNE: Daniel White, of Morrison Street, failed without reasonable excuse to comply with a court-issued community order.

The 41-year-old did not attend unpaid work appointments on August 7, August 28, and September 9, failed to attend supervision on August 15 and 26 and September 6, and did not show up to accredited programmes on July 26 and August 2.

His order’s compliance date has been extended to October 2024 and he received a £200 fine.

TOOTHILL: Jeremy Robb, of Bosham Close, was sentenced for possessing an offensive weapon in public.

The 35-year-old had a knuckle duster while in Swindon on June 28. He received an £80 fine and a community order requiring him to have six months of treatment for alcohol dependency and up to 20 days of rehabilitation activities.

Robb must also pay £50 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.

OLD TOWN: Charles Anderson, of Springfield Road, has been fined for assault and dangerous driving.

The 57-year-old pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman and driving an Audi along Wood Street without due care and attention on August 6 2021 but was later found guilty of both charges.

Swindon Magistrates Court fined him £519 for the assault and £173 for the driving offence, and added three penalty points to his driving licence.

He must also pay £620 in court costs plus £69 to fund victim services.
