PARENTS have been fined hundreds of pounds after their children failed to turn up for school over several days.
The mother and father of two Swindon Academy pupils admitted to letting their daughter miss up to four days of lessons earlier this year.
They received two £125 fines each and must both pay £34 to fund victim services.
And the father of two more Swindon Academy pupils who did not attend a week of classes last winter was handed fines totaling £680 with a £66 victim surcharge on top. He pleaded guilty.
The sentences were given at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this month.
