A man has been arrested following a hit and run incident that left a pedestrian with multiple injuries.

Wiltshire Police investigated after a car hit a pedestrian and failed to stop at 11.45am on Friday.

A man in his 60s was later arrested on suspicion of grievious bodily harm with intent, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle which failed to stop after a road accident, failure to report an accident and using a vehicle without insurance.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A man in his 40s was hit by the car and suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
