THIS Country fans could be in for a treat after the show’s creator suggested the hit comedy series could make a welcome return.
In an interview about her new show, Daisy May Cooper let slip she and brother Charlie, have plans to bring back the legendary show after years of saying series three would be the last.
Daisy May told the Radio Times that cousins Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe would be returning to screens in the hilarious show filmed in Cirencester that also features her father Paul Cooper as her onscreen dad Martin Mucklowe.
The BAFTA Award-winning show ran for three series on BBC Three.
Following the final episode that aired in March 2020 both Daisy May and Charlie said they would not be writing a fourth series after their friend, Michael Slegg who played a key character ‘Suggs’ in the show sadly died of heart failure before the production of the third series.
At the time the siblings said it would be the last series and they were ready for something new.
However, ahead of the launch of Daisy May’s new comedy thriller ‘Am I being unreasonable?’ the hugely-talented writer and actress told the Radio Times, when asked about bringing back This Country, “We definitely will, but I’m not ready yet.
“I found the last series so hard when I lost Michael. I’m still trying to process that.”
Although there are no firm plans for filming as yet, fans can catch Daisy May on screen now as she stars in her new show that she co-wrote with Selin Hizli, Am I Being Unreasonable.
The show launched yesterday on BBC One at 9:50pm.
