A machete and suspected drugs were found in neighbourhoods across Swindon last week.
Last week the Stratton, Central Swindon North and West Swindon Neighbourhood Policing Team have been proactive in the community, targeting areas which have had reports of anti-social behaviour including overt on-street drug dealing.
Over the last few days, officers have carried out operations in Pembroke Rec, The Venny and St Marks Park.
In addition to high visibility patrols, metal detectors have also been used which have located a hidden machete as well as officers finding a number of suspected drugs.
A number of stop checks have been carried out and one male has been arrested for possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and theft. He has been released under investigation.
The areas targeted are open spaces available to the public and the Team will continue to patrol these so that they can be enjoyed safely by the local communities.
As ever, local intelligence is vital in our success and information can be passed to the Team via the Wiltshire Police website, 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on their website or by phone at 0800 555 111.
