A former Swindon glamour has reportedly signed up for the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Melinda Messenger is said to be returning to TV after a four-year absence.

The 51-year-old came to the spotlight in 1997 after appearing as a page-three girl, and is now set to take part in the 2023 edition of the show.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins tests the mental and physical strength of capabilities to the extreme as they attempt to pass the gruelling SAS test in a bid raise money for cancer charities.

It has not been confirmed by Channel 4, whether Ms Messenger will take place on the programme.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster who told the Sun said: “In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential.

"However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.

"In the meantime, tune into the current series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Sunday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.”

In an interviewer with The Sun in 1998, the Swindonian said: “People talk about the real deciding moments of their lives. For me, it came in one phone call from The Sun.

"It was like a thunderbolt. They had seen me, Little Miss Nobody from Swindon, posing in white lingerie on a poster for double-glazing.

“The man on the telephone offered me the chance to become a Page 3 Girl. I remember saying, ‘But I’m due in at the office’, before the full enormity of what he was saying hit me."
