A resident who had lived on the street for over 40 years said she wasn't surprised when she heard about the cannabis farm.
"You can always smell it in the area," she said.
Having lived on the street for so long, she describes how much Gorse Hill has changed in the past years.
"It used to be like a village," she described and later explained how the area had declined in the past years. One example is the constant cannabis smell in the area.
"It's sad to think that people are making money from others' misery."
Another couple who lived in the area said they rarely sit outside in their garden anymore due to the cannabis smell in the area.
A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: "Incidents of this nature are understandably a concern for local residents – we are committed to tackling drug supply within our community and you can help us by acting as our eyes and ears.
"We would urge anyone within our community who suspects drug activity at an address, including the cultivation of cannabis to contact us immediately.
"Signs to look out for include visitors coming and going at the address at unusual hours, distinctive smells, bright lights, covered windows and warmth. We will always act on intelligence we receive.”
Anyone with information should call 101 and quote log number 78 of September 28.
At the beginning of the month, a cannabis farm was discovered at an abandoned phone shop on Regent Street, Swindon.
Just a few days later, a second cannabis farm was found in a house in a residential area in Toothill.
On September 17, a third cannabis farm was found above a kebab shop in central Swindon, where over 200 cannabis plants were being grown.
