A drug-driver from Swindon was caught after police suspected the car wasn't insured.
On April 15, Lee Christopher Page, of Manor Crescent, Moredon, was stopped on Cheney Manor Road after officers suspected he was driving without insurance.
Page subsequently failed a drug wipe, and cannabis was located in the vehicle.
The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, two counts of driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis at a hearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on September 21.
He has been disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £200, and required to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
If you’re convicted of drug driving sentencing can range from a minimum 1-year driving ban, an unlimited fine, up to 6 months in prison as well as a criminal record.
Your driving licence will also show you’ve been convicted for drug driving. This will last for 11 years.
