A SWINDON nightclub will reopen its upstairs floor tonight after finishing a major revamp.
The Power Lounge has invested tens of thousands of pounds into transforming the first floor into a space that aims to rival what's on offer in London's club scene.
Bal-Kumari Roka and her partner Sandeep Poudel manage the venue, which opened last year.
Sandeep told the Adver: "We demolished everything upstairs and started from scratch, and it looks amazing. The toilets, the bar, the flooring, the lights, we're really pleased with how it turned out.
"We've had lots of messages and online comments from customers asking when it will be open again and we can't wait for people to see it.
"Everyone is so excited about it. We've tested the new lighting system and it's unlike any other nightclub in Swindon.
"The downstairs area is often used for big events - like weddings and Christmas parties - as well as the usual club nights.
"The upstairs will play different music and offers a different flavour for people who might want to party separately from the younger crowd.
"We've been told this is the best this building has ever looked."
The Bridge Street building has previously been home to Boston Brothers and Edge.
More upgrades are in the pipeline as the Power Lounge's outdoor dining area is set to be spruced up and become a covered garden and shisha lounge which should be ready to welcome customers in November.
A new bar was added to the outdoor area earlier this year.
Sandeep added: "Our aim is to take things to a different level and bring something different and special to Swindon.
"We're very glad that this place attracts a variety of people who are getting to know us and like what we do, and we're happy with how things are going at the moment.
"We've had requests to open the restaurant earlier - from 12pm - and offer a bigger menu, so that's what we're going to do.
"It's a nice upmarket space out the back where people can come to sit down and have good food during the day, then go and party in the club at night.
"Our catering service is very popular, sometimes serving dozens of people in one day, and we send up to 100 free meals to the Swindon Domestic Abuse Service each month."
