MASKED teenagers were seen chasing people with knives and fighting at a family-friendly funfair in Swindon
The popular attraction returned to the Link Centre and attracted huge crowds between September 18 and 20.
But bursts of antisocial behaviour prompted calls to the police. One Adver reader wrote to us to raise concerns about what happened.
The grandparent said: “Next time the fair comes to West Swindon, there should be a police presence.
“There were gangs of teenagers on bikes wearing balaclavas riding around people with young children and fighting amongst themselves. It made me and my grandchildren very nervous.
“A nice afternoon spoilt, couldn’t wait to get home.”
A police spokesman said: "We received a call from a member of the public shortly after 6pm on Saturday September 17 reporting a large group of teenagers who were arguing near the Link Centre leisure centre.
"There were no reported incidents.
"We then received a call from a member of the public at about 8.45pm on Sunday September 18, saying her teenage son had been chased by a group of teenagers - one of whom reportedly had a knife.
"We attended and cautioned a 14-year-old boy."
