A Swindon man who assaulted a man outside a busy railway station has admitted the offence in court.
Miles Daniel Vincent Burt, 20 of Imber Walk Penhill, appeared at Bristol Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Burt was brought before the court after he was charged with assault by beating.
The offence related to an incident where the defendant assaulted another man outside Bristol Temple Meads railway station on Approach Road on January 29.
Magistrates fined the defendant £184 and ordered him to pay £50 in compensation to the victim.
Burt was also further ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
Sentencing guidelines for common assault can include an unlimited fine and a maximum sentence of up to six months in jail.
