A BMW driver has been slapped with a driving ban after being caught behind the wheel whilst over the drink-drive limit.
Rachael Florance Aldridge, of Brimble Hill, Wroughton appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on September 16 for sentencing, having been convicted in her absence in August.
She was charged with driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit and failing to surrender to court at the appointed time on August 18, 2022
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the drink-driving offence but admitted to failing to turn up to court.
However, magistrates found the defendant guilty of drink-driving following her hearing.
Court records show the defendant gave an evidential breath sample of 46 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35.
Aldridge had been brought before the court after she was stopped by police on White Eagle Road in Swindon on June 18, 2021.
Consequently, the 31-year-old was fined £180 and was ordered to pay costs of £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
She was also banned from driving for 12 months.
A £34 victim surcharge was also issued by the court.
Magistrates also fined Aldridge £200 for failing to turn up at Swindon Magistrates' Court for the trial.
