STAFF at a restaurant in Swindon's town centre are celebrating after receiving a new award from Trip Advisor.
The travel website has honoured Indian restaurant Kutting Chai with a 2022 Traveler's Choice award for Best Restaurant.
This is given to businesses which have consistently had high ratings and reviews from customers throughout the last 12 months.
The restaurant near Regent Circus has received 43 reviews since it appeared on the website in 2019, with an average rating of 4.5 out of five and top marks for food, service, and value.
Two professional chefs cook up traditional Bombay street food for their Swindon guests.
A spokesman for the restaurant said on Facebook: "Our aim is to promote regional Indian cuisine, the 'everyday India'. We pay tribute to the city of Bombay from the southwest coast.
"Our food reflects the food of all Bombay, a food culture with North Indian and southwest coastal influences."
Kutting Chai has had 34 excellent reviews, three very good ones, four average ratings, and one review each for the lowest two ratings.
It is open six days a week and offers meals to eat in, take away, or have delivered.
TripAdvisor's chief commercial officer Kanika Soni said: "Congratulations to the 2022 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice winners.
"The awards recognise the best in tourism and hospitality, according to those who matter most - your guests.
"Ranking among the winners is always tough, but never more so than this year as we emerge from the pandemic.
"Whether it's using new technology, implementing safety measures, or hiring outstanding staff, I'm impressed by the steps you've taken to meet travellers' new demands.
"You've adapted brilliantly in the face of adversity."
Kutting Chai opened on Morley Street in 2018 and could fit 15 seated guests inside the premises. Increased demand prompted a move to a larger location serving up to 50 people at once.
Speaking to the Adver previously, owner Aldred Rodrigues said: "You won't find regular curry house dishes here we provide a totally different dining experience.
"Our most popular dishes are the Keema Pau minced lamb dish, Juhu beach Tawa Pau Bhaji, crispy Dosas, and of course the Goan fish thali and our tribute to the Dabba walls of Bombay, the set meals for two that are served in four tiered tiffins with five different elements."
It won the MTM Good Food Award in 2020 and was a finalist for the MTM Best Restaurant Award in the same year.
