A HEALTH and wellbeing event is being held in Swindon this Sunday to raise awareness of breast cancer.
Changing Suits is a non-profit organisation addressing the inequalities and cultural barriers for the South Asian community.
The group is hosting the event with consultant oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgeon Anushka Chaudhry from the Ridgeway Hospital.
The aim is to raise awareness of Breast Cancer within the South Asian community, as October is National Cancer Awareness Month.
Guests can visit the Punjabi Community Centre on Cricklade Road and Poplar Avenue between 11am and 3pm for a family fun day with a bouncy castle, face painting, henna, and various other businesses and services.
A spokesman for Changing Suits said: "The rates of breast cancer are increasing within the South Asian community, but with fewer people going to get diagnosed and treated, outcomes are becoming increasingly worrying.
"Nurses will be available to book in mammogram appointments for attendees.
"We will also have presentations by wellbeing professionals, including exercise and nutritional experts."
