A teenager has been allegedly assaulted in Swindon today (October 4).
Officers were called to the Kingshill area of the town at around 12:30pm, near to the mini-market on Birch Street.
An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the young male.
Officers say that the man sustained injuries to his hand and shoulder, believed to have been caused by a bottle, and he has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say three people were involved in a "disorder" and that enquires are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy said: “We are currently assessing CCTV footage from the area but we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have been passing who may have dash cam footage which could be relevant to our investigation.”
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers are currently conducting enquiries in the Kingshill area of Swindon following an assault.
“We were called to Kingshill near to the mini market shortly after 12.30pm today following a report that a 16-year-old male had been assaulted.
“Ambulance crews have attended the scene and are treating the victim.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident should call 101 and quote log number 127.”
Note: Wiltshire Police initially said the boy was 16 years old, but later confirmed he was 18.
