Here is a round-up of the public notices filed in Wiltshire this week. 

Road Closures  

Wiltshire Council intends to make orders to close temporarily to all traffic: 

Church Street, Steeple Ashton; from its junctions with C19 to outside its property known as Manor Cottage to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. No alternative route is available. This order will come into operation on October 24 and the closure will be required between the hours of 9am and 4pm for four days. 

Dane Rise (Part), Winsley; from its junction with C391 to its junction with King Alfred Road to enable Gigaclear Limited to carry out excavation works and associated works. Alternative route via C391 - B3108 - Dane Rise (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on October 24 and the closure will be required until October 28. 

The footway off Southmead (Part), Chippenham; from outside property No.142 Southmead to outside property No.148 Southmead will be closed to to enable Wessex Water to carry out installation of meter in footway. Alternative route via Southmead – Footway off Southmead (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on October 31 and the closure will be required for three days.

Old Road (Part), Calne Without; from its junction with A4 to outside its property known as No.63 Old Road to enable Gigaclear Limited to locate and resolve blockages and associated works. Alternative route via Old Road (unaffected length) – A4 and vice versa.

This Order will come into operation on November 2 and the closure will be required for one day.

Minster Way (Part), Chippenham will be closed from its junction with Queens Crescent to its junction with York Close to enable Wessex Water to carry out replacement of manhole cover and associated works. Alternative route via Queens Crescent – Sarum Road – Minster Way (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on October 10, between 9am and 4pm for two days.

New speed limits

Wiltshire Council has proposed a 30mph speed limit on Wellhead Drove, Westbury from its junction with A350 for a distance of 289 metres in an easterly direction. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Westbury Library, Westbury House, Edward Street between 2pm to 7pm Monday, 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday and Friday, 9.30am to 7pm Thursday and 9.30am to 1pm Saturday until October 24. 

There will also be a new 40mph speed limit on B4122, Kington Langley and Sutton Benger – from its roundabout junction with A350 (M4 Junction 17) for a distance of approximately 1km in an easterly direction. 

Licensing

Ian Cundick and Alice Cundick trading as Magic Waste Solutions of 26 Bences Lane, Corsham, is applying for a licence to use Old Station Yard, Station Road, Seend, Melksham, as an operating centre for three goods vehicles.

Owners or occupiers of land including buildings near the operating centres who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected, should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Merest House 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds stating their reasons, within 21 days of this notice.

Stonehenge Shepherds Huts Ltd Of The Stonehenge Inn, 2 Stonehenge Road, Durrington, SP4 8BN Is Applying For A Licence To Use The Stonehenge Inn, 2 Stonehenge Road, Durrington, SP4 8BN as an operating centre for a goods vehicle.

Firing Range Notice

Night Firing will take place during Oct 2022 at Fingringhoe Ranges Nil and Middlewick Ranges Nil. Due To Operational Commitments Firing Including Night Firing May Take Place At Extremely Short Notice, After The Date Of This Publication. For Your Own Safety Do Not Enter The Range Danger Area If Red Flags Are Flying Or Red Lights Are Displayed. Colchester Training Areas will have troops training on most days during the month of Oct 2022.
