These are all the plan listed in the Swindon Borough Council remet in the last week:
Burderop: Developer City and County Burderop Ltd which is turning the stately home of Burderop House back into a mansion after its latter use as offices has asked to put in more flats into the stables and cottage on the house’s grounds.
The company already has permission to turn the buildings into 10 flats, but wants to re-organise the arrangement which will create 11 apartments.
The application says: “The stable block is now proposed to be reused as a single house rather than divided to form three separate residential units and the cottage is now proposed to be reused to provide four apartments rather than a single residential unit. Across these two buildings the currently approved scheme allows for 10 residential dwellings to be created and this planning application proposes that 11 residential dwellings be created.”
Coleshill: Good news for aquatic wildlife and all creatures that love wetlands. Approval has been given to dig a series of ponds and scrapes in Coleshill Estate, which straddles the River Cole on the very northern edge of Swindon Borough to create new wetlands. The plan by the National Trust is to: “maximise the diversity of the site for wetland plants, aquatic and semi-aquatic invertebrates and amphibians and the creation of a backwater to provide shelter and nursery grounds to benefit many fish species.”
Badbury Park: Developer Persimmon Homes has been told by borough council planners to provide electric vehicle charging points for flats the company is building in the local centre of Badbury Park. The company had asked for the provision of 12 points in the centre to be signed off as fulfilling one of the planning conditions that came with permission, but planners said that was suitable for the commercial and community use – but people living in flats in the area, which have separate parking provision also needed charging points.
Chiseldon: Swindon Borough Council has given itself planning permission to install solar panel on the roofs of seven houses in The Wyncies and two in High Street in the village.
Old Town: Andrew Whiting who owns Clifton House in Lethbridge Road has withdrawn his application for a certificate of lawful use for the four flats in the building.
In 2009 permission was granted to extend the building and create five extra apartments to the existing flat and office.
The extension was never built and instead the main building was converted into four flats. Mr Whiting’s application says that if the local council has not taken action on a change of use after four years it becomes legal. There is no indication as to the reason for withdrawing the application.
Extensions: Applications have been lodged to extend houses, or to build outbuildings or convert garages and lofts into habitable rooms at: 47 Cheney Manor Road, Cheney Manor; 63 The Mall, Old Town; 32 Leverton Gate, Broome manor; 21 Kellsboro Avenue, Wroughton; 2 Plain Farm Cottages Ermin Way, Foxhill; 27 Fairlawn, Liden; 15 Chives Way, Woodhall Park.
Such applications have been approved for: 3 Ensor Close, St Andrews; 9 Draycroft Road, Chiseldon; 1 Glenwood Close, Old Town; 22 Keycroft Copse, Old Town; 16 Tavistock Place, Park North; The Cottage, Horpit, Wanborough; 25 Avebury Road, Penhill; 9 Woodside Avenue, Old Walcot; 1 Cavie Close, 9 Elms; 20 Berton Close, Blunsdon; Saracens, Turnball, Chiseldon, Hampton Farm, Hampton Lane, Hampton and 67 Cumberland Road, Old Walcot.
The owner of 505 Cricklade road will have to see full planning permission if he wants to go ahead with his plans for an extension. Dave Smith has been refused prior approval by Euclid Street planners on the grounds that the extension to the house in Pinehurst is wider than the host building.
The refusal of prior consent does not prevent Mr Smith from submitting a full application for consent.
