HIGHWAYS  

Under the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 Swindon Borough Council has made the following orders.

EDISON ROAD/DORCAN WAY

This order is being introduced for resurfacing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4006 Dorcan Way between the roundabouts junctions with The Drive and Hindle Way and Edison Road between Dorcan Way and Faraday Road including the section of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road.

Edison Road closure - Traffic to be diverted via Liden Drive and Dorcan Way and vice versa. Sections of the roundabout with Wheatstone Road Closure - traffic to be diverted via Wheatstone Road, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout, B4006 Dorcan Way and vice versa.

Dorcan Way closure - Traffic to be diverted via Covingham Drive, Merlin Way, White Hart Roundabout, A419, A4259 Marlborough Road to Coate Roundabout and vice versa. Access to industrial estate to be maintained. The Order comes into the force on October 20 for 12 months but it is expected the works will be carried out overnight between 8pm-6am in October/November 2020 with works taking up to six weeks. Advance notice at location will be given of work start dates/times.

WHITEHALL WAY

This order is being introduced for road maintenance works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the B4534 Whitehill Way between Whithymead and Blagrove roundabouts. Works are to be phased and traffic will be diverted via signed routes from the B4534 Mead Way, Tewkesbury Way, A3102 Great Western Way depending on the section of Whitehill Way is closed to traffic. The order comes into the force on November 14 2022 for six months but it is expected the works will be carried out over three weeks from November 14 2022 overnight from 8pm-6am.

FARNSBY STREET BACK ROAD

This order is being introduced to allow Openreach to carry out work to the rear of Guild House and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the road to the rear of Farnsby Street. Traffic to be diverted via the one-way system on Farnsby Street, Milton Road and Faringdon Road. The order will come into force on November 17 2022 for six months but the closure will only be required between November 17-18 2022.

SOUTH STREET

This order is being introduced to allow sewer cleansing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on South Street from No 1 up to the junction with Prospect Place. Traffic is to be diverted via Eastcott Road and Prospect Place. The Order will come into force on November 28 2022 for six months but it is anticipated the closure will only be required on November 28 2022.

MEADOW WAY

This order is being introduced to allow for fibre cable works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Meadow Way between junction with Badbury Lane and A419 Overbridge. Access for Residents to be maintained. Traffic to be diverted via Medbourne Road, B4192 Purley Road and A419 Marlborough Road. The Order will come into force on November 7 2022 for six months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place on November 7and 16 2022 only.

BADBURY LANE/BERRICOT LANE

This Order is being introduced to allow for fibre cable works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Badbury Lane and Berricot Lane.

Traffic to be diverted via Medbourne, B4192, The Ridgeway, A346 Marlborough Road and vice versa. The Order will come into force on October 19 2022 for six months but it is anticipated the road closure will take place on October 19 and 28 2022 only.

WROUGHTON

This order is being introduced for resurfacing works and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on the A4361 Croft Road and Swindon Road between Blackhorse Way and Devizes Road. Traffic to be diverted via A4361 Devizes Road, A4361 High Street, B4005 Wharf Road, Mill Lane, Foxham Way, B4006 Blackhorse Way and vice versa.

PROSPECT PLACE

This order is being introduced for Thames Water to install new service and will prohibit vehicles from proceeding on Prospect Place outside Paxton House. The 'no entry' restriction on Bath Road to be suspended for the duration of the road closure. Traffic to be diverted via Union Row, Victoria Road and Bath Road. The order comes into force on November 8 2022 for six months, but it is expected the works will be carried out between November 8 to 11 2022.

PLANNING

Swindon Borough Council has given noticed of the following applications.

MOREDON

Notice is hereby given that Swindon Borough Council intends to dispose of land deemed to be public open space at Moredon Recreation Ground, Cheney Manor Road, Swindon. 21.40 hectares of land is to be disposed of via a lease to the Central Swindon North Parish Council and is to continue as a recreation ground.

MILTON ROAD

Demolition of a section of rear roof and extension to accommodate first-floor plant, part replacement of the existing roof and glazed lantern over changing rooms, reconfiguration of internal layouts, enclosure of existing alleyway to accommodate new changing room block and toilet block, removal of all plant, equipment and internal partitions within the former Washing Baths Hall, and external and internal restoration works and repairs throughout. OLD TOWN

Erection of a single-storey rear extension. Planning reference: S/HOU/22/1423RACH

SOUTH MARSTON

Conversion of barns to form one dwelling including the erection of a single storey extensions to the existing buildings and change of use of agricultural land to form residential curtilage without compliance with condition 7 (Approved Drawings) from previous permission S/15/2021. S/HOU/22/1377AMMY Longview House, 64 Church Road, Wanborough, Swindon, SN4 0BZ Erection of a replacement garden wall and gates to front with access. Planning reference: S/22/1108EDSN.

LICENSING

HIGHWORTH

An application has been made to the Licensing Authority for Swindon for the grant of a Premises Licence by Matthew Aherne in respect of selling alcohol at Weigh It Up, 1-2 Swindon Street, Hlghworth, Wiltshire SN6 7AH.

The application seeks the following licensable activities and times:

Off-Supply of Alcohol from 8am-7pm from Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
