The most Instagrammable stately places in the South West have been revealed- and two from Wiltshire have made the cut.
Lacock Abbey was ranked as the most Instagrammable in the whole of the South West, with 24,632 hashtags according to Stokemont Party Wall Surveyor.
Built on the foundations of a former nunnery, the atmospheric Abbey was famously the home of pioneering inventor William Henry Fox Talbot in the 19th century.
But more recently the abbey has been famous for its iconic appearance in Harry Potter, meaning fans of the films can go and take a snap in the corridors where many of the interiors were used in the Hogwarts School for a number of scenes.
And another memorable hotspot was Longleat House, with 10,792 hashtags used altogether.
We can see why this landmark has got people’s attention, as it is surrounded by rolling countryside, is home to some of the county’s most striking events like the hot air balloon festival and is filled with history and Elizabethan architecture.
Other recognisable stately homes in the area included Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire which came in second most Instagrammed place, Powderham Castle in Devon in third, and Montacute House in Somerset in fourth.
