Swindon Borough Council have announced which of the town centre roads will be affected by the Remembrance Sunday services happening this weekend.
The details were revealed in a recent Facebook post by the official Swindon Borough Council account.
“From 6pm on Saturday, 12 November until 12pm Sunday, 13 November, half of Granville Street car park will not be accessible to vehicles or the public, to accommodate members of the Armed Forces congregation ahead of the ceremony,” revealed the post.
However, other car parking will not be affected and instead remain open and available to the public elsewhere in the town centre.
In addition to the car park closure, Swindon Borough Council also stated that several of the town centre’s roads will be closed because of the parade.
“There will also be road closures and restrictions on Temple Street, Regent Circus and Commercial Road from 7am to 2pm on Sunday, 13 November,” the spokesperson added.
The main service itself will begin at 10:30am and last until 12pm at the Swindon Cenotaph on Regent Circus and is open for anyone to attend.
The procession is set to begin at 10:50am and following the two-minute silence held at 11am, a wreath will be laid.
Alternatively, a Field of Remembrance at Lydiard Park has been open since Thursday, October 27, which is open every day from 10am to 3.30pm.
A two-minute silence is held every day until Sunday, November 27.
