A serious crash between Marlborough and Burbage has sparked a heavy emergency service presence.
Marlborough Police confirmed that emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on the A436 at 2.20pm.
In a post on social media, it was also confirmed that only a single vehicle was involved but details of what the vehicle was have not been shared.
A spokesperson confirmed that a road closure has been put in place: "The road is currently closed from Salisbury Hill (BP roundabout) Marlborough side and Wootton Rivers south side.
"This closure is likely to remain in place for several hours so please avoid the area and seek an alternative route."
Wiltshire's Roads Policing Unit is also in attendance, with the Wilts Spec Ops Twitter account tweeting about their involvement at 3pm and reiterating that the road is unlikely to open anytime soon.
The tweet said: "RPU are at scene and investigating a serious RTC A346 between Marlborough and Burbage, we are working with partner agencies to offer the best possible care and investigation. The road will be closed for considerable time."
Residents trying to access a nearby estate opposite Tescos have reported extensive delays and traffic gridlock.
