Three people have been stabbed during an incident in Swindon's town centre this afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene at Alfred Street, Swindon shortly after 2pm after reports that a disorder had taken place between Manchester Road and Alfred Street, where they currently remain.
A man was arrested on suspicion of GBH at the scene and is on his way to custody in Gablecross.
Three people have suffered stab wounds during the incident – none of these are believed to be serious.
Police have released a statement following the daytime street stabbing, confirming that the victims seem to have been deliberately targeted.
Inspector Steve Love said: "We do not believe this to be a random attack although it is very early stages of our investigation.
"Residents can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out this afternoon and over the coming days. If you have any concerns, please speak to an officer."
An appeal for anyone who saw what happened to come forward has been made.
A force spokesperson said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident should call 101 and quote log number 195 of November 13.
