A Swindon based charity shop has paid tribute of one of its workers, who passed away on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed down to the Survivor shop in The Parade at around 4pm and stayed for an hour as paramedics congregated behind the closed doors.
Of the three ambulances present, two departed after well over an hour and the third remained for around a further 30 minutes.
Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service, who run the shop located in The Parade, released a statement regarding last week’s tragic event.
Jo Eamey, CEO of the charity said: “Everyone involved with the shop and the charity are saddened by the passing of one of our shop volunteers.”
“She was a well-liked and respected member of the team who will be missed greatly. We will remember her generosity of spirit and kindness fondly.”
“We have offered our condolences and support to her family and are supporting our volunteers, with Survivor remained close until Monday.”
Wiltshire Police confirmed over the weekend that a woman who was inside the store at the time collapsed and died at the scene, despite the best efforts of paramedics to save her.
A police spokesperson said: "It was a non-suspicious death of a woman who suffered a cardiac arrest."
