A driver was hospitalised, following a multi-vehicle crash on the A419 earlier on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the southbound side of the dual carriageway, close to Junction 15 of the M4.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed that a military vehicle and two lorries were involved in the collision which took place at 11.30 am.
Nobody was arrested, but police have said that one of the drivers has been taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a road traffic collision on the A419 near Swindon around 11.30 this morning (15/11) involving 2 lorries and a military vehicle.
“The collision happened close to junction 15 of the M4.
“One driver was taken to hospital.
“No arrests have been made.”
Firefighters from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea and Gloucester North attended to assist with vehicle stabilisation and scene safety.
When asked to comment a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving three lorries on the A419 at 11.37am this morning.
“Crews attended from Swindon, Stratton and Westlea, together with a heavy rescue unit from Gloucester North. One person was assisted to safety and our stop was at 12.37pm.”
The crash left severe delays in the area for several hours, with two lanes closed at one point.
The delays have since cleared.
