Hundreds of residents have been left without power this evening.
The power outage was reported at around 6pm on Tuesday evening after traffic and street lights went out.
Areas in Stratton such as Swindon Road and Ermin Street are without power and people are currently using torches on their phones to move about safely.
66 postcodes in SN1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are said to have been affected, according to SSEN. Almost 1,000 customers have been affected.
Motorists are also having to use their full beam lights to see ahead, with street lights knocked out.
On their website, SSEN says the issue has been reported, but an engineer has yet to be deployed to the site to fix the electricity.
In an update the power supplier said now hoped to fix the issue by midnight this evening.
Furthermore some residents have reported that they have had their power restored.
Back in February, SSEN was forced to apologise after people in some parts of Swindon were left without power for a whole day.
Borough and areas outside of the town such as Shrivenham, Sevenhampton, Wanborough and Bourton were all left without power.
