Swindon commuters were left frustrated on Wednesday morning as the wait for a bus reached over an hour in some areas.
Due to a serious incident that happened on the A419 on the morning of Wednesday, November 16, much of Swindon was gridlocked during the morning rush hour.

Amongst the chaos on the roads, several bus routes were delayed or cancelled.
One person affected by this was Sharon John, 53, who faced a lengthy wait for the 13 and 14 services.
“I’ve been waiting over an hour and have missed three buses,” she said.
“Obviously you can’t help it because of the accident, but why couldn’t they have sent out some spare buses.”
The 14 service goes via Queen’s Drive as well as to Dorcan, and many use the service each morning to commute.
Mrs John works at a local school and relies on the bus most mornings to get her there on time.
“All of the buses that have arrived so far go along Queen’s Drive anyway, so they could have changed one of those into a 14,” she lamented.
“There have been four or five of all the other bus services such as the 12 service, so why not the 13 or 14.”
#Swindon Due to the continuing road closure on A419, this is leading to significant delays to services s6, 7, 9, 46/48, 80, 51 and all College services. Please check the Stagecoach Bus App for live updates.

Elsewhere, Janjira Osbourn, 27, was also in the queue waiting for a cancelled bus service after being delayed for around 20 minutes.
“It has inconvienced me as I needed to get to work this morning,” she said.
The majority of the roads going in and out of Swindon were gridlocked for most of the morning due to the incident on the A419.
“Due to the A419 closure we are seeing delays on all services by up to 50 minutes,” read a Tweet from the official Swindon Bus Company Twitter account.
“We apologise for the disruption our team are doing everything they can to minimise the delays.”
Police were called to the A419 at around 2.30am on Wednesday after reports of a "serious collision".
Officers closed the dual carriageway in both directions, and it is expected to remain closed for several hours.
The Wanborough Road bridge over the A419 was also closed.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "These closures are expected to be in place for several hours including the morning rush hour.
"Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route."
