Images have been released of multiple lorries that were involved in a crash on the A419 on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the southbound side of the dual carriageway near to the Badbury Roundabout at around 11.30am on Tuesday.
Three lorries including a military vehicle had crashed, which caused heavy traffic in the area.
Wiltshire Specialist Operations unit, which consists of the constabulary's roads policing unit and the armed response unit, published the photos of the incident.
One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but no arrests were made.
Police said that the drivers were "very lucky" to escape with only minor injuries.
They also issued a plea for motorists to "drive to the conditions", after heavy rain swept across the region on Tuesday, creating treacherous driving conditions.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a road traffic collision on the A419 near Swindon around 11.30 this morning (15/11) involving 2 lorries and a military vehicle.
Firefighters from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea and Gloucester North attended to assist with vehicle stabilisation and scene safety.
When asked to comment a spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving three lorries on the A419 at 11.37am this morning.
“Crews attended from Swindon, Stratton and Westlea, together with a heavy rescue unit from Gloucester North. One person was assisted to safety and our stop was at 12.37pm.”
The crash left severe delays in the area for several hours, with two lanes closed at one point.
