Wiltshire Police have confirmed a 14-year-old girl received minor injuries after being hit by a car in Swindon.
Police and ambulance services were both on the scene outside Covingham minimarket on St Paul’s Drive yesterday evening.
A police spokesperson said: “We attended a road traffic collision on St Paul’s Drive in Swindon around 4.45pm yesterday involving a pedestrian and a car.
“A 14-year-old girl was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
“No arrests have been made.”
One witness, who works as security across the road and attended the scene after the accident, said that the girl’s parents were with her while she was treated in an ambulance.
At the time, Wiltshire Specialist Operations revealed on Twitter that a car had hit a pedestrian on the adjacent Kingfisher Drive and the victim had minor injuries.
The collision comes on the same day that Wiltshire Specialist Operations posted a video of a motorist speeding through a red light in Swindon as children were about to cross the road.
Police captured dashcam footage of the incident, which occurred on Queens Drive, and shared it as part of their Project Zero initiative to tackle the fatal five offences: excess speed, drink or drug driving, using a mobile whilst driving, driving while not wearing a seatbelt and careless or dangerous driving.
