Staff at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Swindon are celebrating after marking the one-year anniversary since the site opened.
Located in Shrivenham, the centre is home to thousands of employees with many previously being employed at the old Honda factory.
Now, staff at Amazon have marked the occasion of being part of Swindon for a whole year.
On Wednesday night, employees at the fulfilment centre took part in celebrations in the run-up to the site’s anniversary, including games, giveaways and fancy dress.
The series of events concluded with a spectacular fireworks display held at the centre.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “We’ve had a great first year here in Swindon and we wanted to do something special to say thank you to our team for all their efforts since we arrived in the town.
"We all enjoyed getting together to celebrate the year’s successes.”
Sebastian Rotaru, who works at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Swindon, added:
“Our first year in Swindon has been great, and it has been nice to get involved with the community on many occasions, too. The fireworks display was a brilliant way to celebrate the occasion.”
Since opening its doors in 2021, the Amazon fulfilment centre in Swindon has made donations totalling £34,000 to charities across Swindon, including IPSUM, Akt, and Samaritans.
