AN ENORMOUS tree in one of Swindon's country parks has been given a festive makeover.
The 60-metre-high Lawson cypress which stands proudly in front of Lydiard House is now covered in Christmas lights.
Swindon Borough Council switched on the 800 bulbs just after sunset on Friday evening.
A spokesman said: "Ready, set, glow!
"In the run up to Christmas, Lydiard House Museum will be hosting a number of events which are guaranteed to get you into the holiday spirit - from carols, to fabulous party night packages and Christmas tours of the house - there's something for everyone to enjoy."

Elsewhere in Swindon, the town centre's Christmas lights have been put up and a market full of gift ideas is trading all weekend, with carol singers and stilt walkers joining the festivities.
Old Town's Christmas lights will be switched on at the end of a day full of music, food and drink on Wood Street next Sunday.
