POLICE carried out speed checks following complaints from people living in Rodbourne - and they caught three over the limit in one evening.
Officers from the Stratton, Central North and West Swindon Neighbourhood team stationed themselves in the area on Saturday evening.
They checked the speeds of vehicles travelling on Northern Road, Ferndale Road and Great Western Way by Bruce Street Bridges.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Most drivers adhered to the speed limits however three drivers have been issued traffic offence reports for driving in excess of the speed limit.
"The highest speed recorded was 44MPH in a 30MPH zone."
Rodbourne recently hit the headlines following complaints that motorists often faced gridlock, prompting councillors to call for something to be done to improve the roads and infrastructure.
An Adver reporter gave his view on the situation after driving around on one busy afternoon.
