The search is on after occupants of a car involved in a head-on smash on one of West Swindon's busiest roads fled the scene.
Officers looked for them and even deployed the use of police dogs, but they have now asked for help from members of the public.
At 8.40pm on November 18, a Fiat Diablo travelling from the direction of the Woodlands Edge pub towards the main roundabout along Mead Way is believed to have overtaken a vehicle and collided with a Seat travelling in the opposite direction.
The occupants of the Seat sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The occupants of the Fiat fled the scene on foot.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "A police dog attended the area and extensive searches were conducted but unfortunately the occupants were not located.
"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who was travelling in the area who may have dash cam footage relevant to our investigation to get in touch."
Anyone who can help is urged to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220122120.
