The loneliest place in Swindon has been revealed thanks to ONS data from 2021.

The 2021 Census has revealed that Central South & Eastcott had the highest percentage of single person households, clocking in at 37.4 per cent.

This is far from uncommon in the town, as 28.4 per cent of Swindon households are one person as well.

Also in the top five loneliest places in the town, as revealed by the interactive map, are Walcot East and Gorse Hill which totalled 32.3 per cent and 31.7 per cent respectively.

Interestingly, Moulden Hill & Oakhurst is ranked one of the least lonely with 21 per cent of households there consisting of three people.

Rather unsurprisingly, most households in the region consist of two people, with many couples residing in Swindon.

Haydon Wick is most popular in this category according to the 2021 census with 40 per cent of households with two people in them.

Alongside the usual amounts people per household which have been covered, the data also revealed how many households have eight or more people.

Central North topped this category for the whole of Swindon with 3.3 per cent of households there having eight or more residents.
