Here is a summary of the latest planning applications submitted to Wiltshire Council.
WESTBURY: Plans to re-site three houses that have already received permission on land adjacent Cradlebridge House, 140 Leigh Road, Westbury have been submitted to Wiltshire Council.
The proposal was submitted by Mr Richard Wiley representing AJS Developments Ltd, and the site area is 0.14 hectares, and it is currently a residential garden.
The number of parking spaces planned is 12.
Four of the houses are to be three-bedroom houses while one is to have four or more bedrooms.
The revised proposal seeks to re-site two of the semi-detached dwellings northwards and revise the siting of the vehicular access.
The detached house will be moved eastwards slightly.
CHIPPENHAM: A log supply and haulage yard in 9 Durlett Road, Bromham, Chippenham may be converted to a swimming pool and workshop store for domestic use.
The applicant also seeks planning permission for a single-storey garage.
MARLBOROUGH: An application has been submitted for permission to rebuild the wall in the private carpark of the grounds of The Priory, High Street, Marlborough because it is deteriorating. The Priory is a grade II listed building.
The proposed works to be undertaken are concentrated to the wall in the private car park of The Priory, this car park is accessed off Figgins Lane and is adjacent to The Priory gardens.
To ensure consistency with the current presentation any bricks that are able to be re-used will be and any replacement bricks required will be like for like so as to maintain the existing appearance.
ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: The existing house called The Meadows on Brinkworth Road in Royal Wootton Bassett is to be demolished and replaced by a new dwelling.
The planning application says: “The original house was built in the 1975 and forms a 276m2 house, Garage 51.3m2 and outbuilding 71m2.
“This house is a traditional chalet style building. Its condition is poor and needs to be demolished with more detail on this in a separate report.
“Garages have been built forming an incoherent development. A detached store workshop has little architectural form.
“The existing house has been added to over the years have created an incongruous form.
“The garden has mature trees with large established hedges forming Boundaries.”
The application adds: “The new building will provide a high standard in environmental sustainability. Solar panels and battery storage, surface water harvesting, Thermal Insulation above required current standards. Efficient lighting. Ground source heat pump, Smart integrated controls.”
It further says: “The new development will be positioned to the west boundary of the land in the position of the garage.
“The new layout will take into account level threshold and disabled wc access.
“The proposal would be a well-designed dwelling, similar to existing houses in the county and would not harm the character and appearance to the locality in accordance with Core Policy 57 of the Wiltshire Core Strategy.”
Extensions: Applications have been submitted to extend houses or build outbuildings or convert garages and lofts into habitable rooms at: 4 Spaines, Marolborough, 2 The Breach, Compton Bassett, Manor Farm, Devizes, Beech Cottage, Chippenham, 254 Sandridge Common, Melksham.
Trees: Applications have been submitted for work on trees at: Virginia House, Pewsey, Becker’s Wood, Chippenham, 16 Sandy Lane, Chippenham, The Willow, Marlborough, Hedgerow to the south of Westlands Lane Beanacre.
