Wiltshire Police have promised to clamp down on drivers speeding in Swindon after scores of motorists were caught in a day of action.
Officers from the Stratton, Central North and West Swindon neighbourhood team conducted speed checks on roads where drivers have been known to excessively speed.
The action took place on Cheney Manor Road, Akers Way and Penhill Drive on Wednesday morning.
Despite a traffic calming zone being in place, one driver decided to ignore this and was caught doing 38 mph in a 30 zone with the drivers speed increasing prior to him being stopped by police.
One traffic offence report was issued at Akers Way and words of advice were issued to another driver on Cheney Manor Road.
Police say that further checks will be made going forward.
Over in Highworth, enforcement officers conducted speed checks last Friday.
